Gesture
Voice unfolds in movement; it is neither a pose nor a fixed position.
Voice · Identity · Relation
hello@gavot.euVoice does more than express who we are: it takes part in how we become.
An approach to vocal identity that brings body, action, learning and the social dimensions of communication together.
Speaking is more than moving air. We organize gestures, address other people and enter a space shaped by expectations. This is why changing a voice feature does not automatically make it easy to use in everyday life.
Ideas of masculine, feminine, neutral or androgynous voices are influenced by culture. People may connect with some features, resist others or want a flexible repertoire. Training should not impose a definition.
Part of our work is to create new communicative experiences: try a gesture, notice its effects, use it in context and decide whether it belongs among the options you want.
Voice unfolds in movement; it is neither a pose nor a fixed position.
How we hear ourselves may differ from how others hear us.
Trying new choices across people and situations can expand your expressive repertoire.
Voice is one of the places where we build, recognize and show who we are.
It is the relationship a person develops with their vocal possibilities and the meanings their voice carries in daily life.
Acoustic features are not exclusive to any one gender. Associations are also shaped by social and cultural conventions.
Relationships contain habits and expectations. Bringing a new gesture into an established dynamic can take time and gradual experimentation.
